A few words about me
My passion is for expressive, colourful paintings using oils or acrylics combined with mixed media to create form and texture. I tend to be semi-abstract and paint intuitively as I apply my marks, add texture and colour to create a memory, evoke a feeling or sense of place.
Natural forms and the landscape of Kent, Sussex, Cornwall, and the Mediterranean inspire my work. I particularly notice the formation and texture of objects, the line and colour of land and sea.
For two years I led an Arts Collective, The TWells Gallery in Monson Rd, Tunbridge Wells which consisted of 25 local artisans.
I was previously one of the Artists in Residence at the 'Creatives Gallery' in Ely Court, Royal Victoria Place, Tunbridge Wells.
I mainly paint in my garden studio, which is available to view by appointment.
I have taught art at ‘Canvas Space’, Hawkenbury near Tunbridge Wells as well as running workshops for a small company I set up with a friend called’ Creative Pursuits’, which involved art and craft sessions for children and adults..
In May 2021 I was appointed Vice Chair of the Royal Tunbridge Wells Art Society where I have been a member for 9 Years. I lead the Curating, Marketing Teams and Tuesday Inspirational Sessions.
