A few words about me
My passion is for expressive, colourful paintings using oils or acrylics combined with mixed media to create form and texture. I tend to be semi-abstract and paint intuitively as I apply my marks, add texture and colour to create a memory, evoke a feeling or sense of place.
Natural forms and the landscape of Kent, Sussex, Cornwall, and the Mediterranean inspire my work. I particularly notice the formation and texture of objects, the line and colour of land and sea.
Since January 2018 I have been the Chair and exhibitor at T. Wells Arts Collective and Gallery inTunbridge Wells Gallery (twellsgallery.com) where you can see a range of my framed work, unframed paintings and cards.
I was previously one of the Artists in Residence at the 'Creatives Gallery' in Ely Court, Royal Victoria Place, Tunbridge Wells.
I mainly paint in my garden studio, which is available to view by appointment.
Having a background in teaching and training, I currently teach painting at Canvaspace in Hawkenbury near Tunbridge Wells.
